Mission Team 6: Singapore
Coming in at the speed of light speed is Mission Team #6, Singapore! Our farthest-reaching team has just six days left before they step on the first leg of their 28-hour journey to Huntsville. These young men, Edison and Marcus, earned their place at camp through their outstanding contest submission; they created a detailed plan for a safe journey to Titan, Saturn’s largest moon.
The scholarships were presented at the Singapore Airshow with Endeavour partners Space Faculty, the US Embassy, and Experia Events Pte Ltd. Miss Gillian, Assistant Manager for Education Programmes at Singapore Space & Technology Ltd Ltd (SSTL), helped run the contest to select our winners and will be joining the team at Space Camp !
Scholarship Recipients
Marcus CHU
Hi everyone! I’m Marcus from Singapore. I am honoured to be a recipient of the endeavour scholarship, as it gives me the chance to learn and make friends from those from other countries, which might even lead to us collaborating on projects to benefit mankind in the future! As a student passionate about STEM, I hope to learn more about space and gain a better appreciation of how the different sciences combine to enhance space exploration.
EDISON TONG
Hi everyone, I am Edison from Singapore. I have always been interested in seeking answers and discovering more about the universe around us. After seeing the task for the Endeavour Challenge – which is to plan a mission to Saturn’s Moon, Titan – I wanted to see what innovation and imagination can lead us to create, and so I joined (and I think our product ended up pretty good!). My desire for discovery has led me on the path of science and specifically Astrophysics, and I hope to uncover the deepest secrets of the universe, to find all the answers there are to find.
We are honoured to receive this legacy in an almost Promethean sense and hope to do our best in the future to keep the flame of scientific progress burning.
